When to schedule outdoor family photos in Seattle

Seattle weather is chaotic, kids are unpredictable, and yet somehow we still make gorgeous outdoor family portraits happen. Here’s how to pick a time that fits your life.

Pick the season based on your vibe

  • Spring (Mar–May): fresh green, blossoms, occasional “surprise hail.” Bring layers!

  • Summer (Jun–Sep): warm, golden, and crowded. Weekdays mornings are my best friend.

  • Fall (Oct–Nov): moody light, cozy clothes, golden leaves. Fast sunsets.

  • Winter (Dec–Feb): dramatic skies + fewer people. We move fast, take warm-up breaks, and make the gray look perfection.

Selecting the time

If you have little kids, schedule around naps and snacks. If your family is low-energy, morning is cruel. If you want that glowy light, we’ll aim for golden hour and I’ll keep things moving so nobody melts down.

Yes, queer/polyam/plus size families belong in every season

No stiff posing. No “minimize yourself” bullshit. We do movement, cuddles, walking, and real connection.

After the session, we turn your images into customized artwork: albums and wall art that remind you how loved you are in the body that you have today.

And if you’re also thinking about an outdoor boudoir session in Seattle, Everett, Tacoma, Bellingham, Snohomish or nearby? Same photographer, same body-positive energy.
