Real Life Mermaid

An outdoor boudoir session at Whatcom Falls, near Bellingham, WA.

M reached out wanting to celebrate her body before an upcoming surgery that was going to give some big scarring. Because of this, we decided to do one session before surgery and one after. We giggled so hard when she came back with the tiniest scar I’ve ever seen! Oh well, more time to celebrate!

M is so kind. They are incredibly self aware and curious about the world. They are considerate and just a treat to be around.

When M met me at Whatcom Falls, it was the busiest I’ve ever seen it!

I was nervous because I wanted M to have a great experience. And we ended up embracing standing out. Once we got into a groove, we didn’t care about any onlookers.

At one point, there was a kiddo and their mom who was admiring M. And the kid said “she’s so pretty, she looks like a mermaid!” and the mom nodded in approval. We love when kids get positive messages about bodies.
