Queer Couple Family Photos

Have you ever seen a couple so cute?!

We love when queer folks take up space, especially outside in public and in nature.

These two being so sweet, snuggly, and can’t-keep-hands-away made my heart melt. We met at the Seattle Japanese Garden and got to walk around to warm up. My favorite family photo sessions include some movement, when possible, so it feels more like a nature walk with pauses than a stuffy photo session. These two were giggly and in the moment from the very first second.

I like to check in with folks so after the first couple of images, I asked how they were feeling. C responded that they hoped it didn’t sound rude, but that they forgot I was there. Hello!? My favorite kind of compliment. I loved that these two prioritized time together over posing a certain way or thinking of me. They were simply enjoying each others’ company. Of course, I like to give prompts and direction, but it felt so good to see them enjoy each other.

My highlight of the session (month, year, etc.) was that they said I love you together for the first time during our session. WOW. CRY. TEARS. I still get goosebumps when I think about it. The moment was perfection - besides me calling them because I thought they were asking for direction. Ya know, nothing like inserting myself into someone else’ core memory.

Anyways, we created some gorgeous artwork from this session. Want to see some of my favorites from this romantic queer couple photo session?
