Fat Con, Fatlesque, and the easiest damn photos of the year

Another year, another Fat Con, another opportunity to photograph some of the most talented performers in the Seattle fat community! Fatlesque performers, holy shit, are incredible.

For those who don't know, Fatlesque is burlesque by fat performers for fat audiences (and everyone else who appreciates amazing art). And Fat Con is a sibling event; a conference and community gathering centered on fat liberation, fat joy, and fat excellence. I am so thrilled to be back photographing the Fatlesque performers!

Why I gift photo sessions to Fatlesque performers

Look, these performers are doing important work. They're getting on stage, taking up space, and showing the world that fat bodies are gorgeous, talented, powerful, and worthy of celebration. They're fighting against decades of stigma and bullshit. They're creating art that challenges what we've been told bodies should look like.

So I gift them photo sessions as a thank you. Because their work matters. Because representation in photography matters. And because honestly? It's a fucking honor to photograph them.

These sessions are everything I love about boudoir photography

The Fatlesque performers I've worked with are easy to work with, so fun, and gorgeous as hell. They know their bodies. They know their angles. They know how to move and pose and express emotion. Working with trained performers is a whole different vibe, and I'm here for it.

But beyond the technical ease, these sessions embody everything I believe about body positive boudoir photography in Seattle. It's about celebrating bodies exactly as they are. It's about fat liberation in action. It's about creating images that make people feel powerful and seen.

To the Fatlesque performers: thank you

Thank you for trusting me with your images. Thank you for the work you do on stage and off. Thank you for being part of the fat liberation movement in Seattle and beyond.

It's an honor to photograph you. Every single time.

If you're in Seattle and you want body positive boudoir photography

Whether you're a performer, a Fat Con attendee, or just someone who wants boudoir photos that celebrate your body without apology, let's talk! I do outdoor and indoor boudoir photography in Seattle for people of all sizes, all identities, all vibes.

Here are the first 9 images from the Fatlesque performers. More to come!
