How to be present in your body, get out of your head.
Leading up to your session you may feel a lil nervous – this is totally normal! Nerves and excitement often feel like the same thing.
Here are some optional ideas to reconnect with your body the week/day before your boudoir session:
Indulge in activities that you love that move your body – yoga, dance classes, swimming, any form of mindful movement where you can reconnect your mind to body
Spend a lot of time in the mornings moisturizing your body – make it sensual, meditative, and/or intentional
Listen to music that makes you feel like your bad self – try moving and dancing to that music the day before your session if that is your vibe
Have a dance party or fashion show in your session outfits!
Boudoir can be an empowering experience and tool for self-healing. If you’re looking to use this experience as a way to fall deeper in love with yourself, here are some journal prompts examples to consider before your session:
What is my intention for this session?
What do I want to get out of it?
How do I want to feel during and after? What about years after?
What are some affirmations I need to hear, that I can tell myself before and during my session?
How can I be my own hype person? What mantras can I say to myself throughout my session to pump myself up?
What beliefs do I need to let go of going into this experience?
What is the biggest take away I want from this experience?
I also recommend taking some time to put your hands on your body before your session and saying affirmations and mantras that make you feel deeply loved by yourself. Here are some of my faves:
I am loved in the body that I have today; my body is worth being loved
I am wonderful and deserving of love
I am perfect just the way I am
I can trust my body
I am allowed to take up space
