We are Nature: The Bloom Campaign

If we are part of nature (we are), then why don’t we celebrate the diversity of our bodies the same way we are in awe of the diversity within nature?

The Bloom Campaign is a two-for-one kinda deal: boudoir plus fundraiser.

Part one - boudoir session - is about embracing the parts of our bodies that we are so vehemently taught to hate. This is either full nude or partial nudity to find flowers to either represent or potentially even look similar to our bellies, rolls, stretch marks, cellulite, or whatever else you want to embrace. This is likely indoors, but there is an option of doing a garden, greenhouse, or outside in a private outdoor space.

Part two - fundraiser - is supporting an incredible organization, Lavender Rights Project (get it, Bloom!). This org works with trans and gender expansive folks on housing, movement lawyering, and policy advocacy to change our current anti-trans systems. This is a Black-trans-led org and deserves more and more support. A portion of each session will go directly to this agency.

I’m so excited to share some of these images of folks who resonated with this project. As we create artwork, I hope to share some of that goodness with you all soon.

Interested by this project? I’m Laura (she+they)! I am a Seattle-based photographer and I specialize in outdoor boudoir and family portraits. In 2025, I have a different project every single month to make a positive impact in a world (and country) filled with violence, devastation, and harm. It’s the little things that add up to make a big thing. So let’s make little good things turn into big ones.
