Four Generations at Rattlesnake Lake

I photographed a maternity session at Rattlesnake Lake with three generations of women, and holy shit, it felt so powerful. My client, C, is having a baby girl… aka adding another badass to the family lineage. These women showed up funny, kind, and ready to hype each other up.

We did this in February, which in the PNW is basically a weather roulette wheel. But we avoided the snow, scored that soft winter light, and made the lake + mountains do the background work while everyone simply enjoyed each other. We laughed, hugged, and let the moment be real.

This is what outdoor family portrait photography looks like with me in Seattle, Snohomish County, and nearby: you get guided, but you do not get forced into some fake version of your family. Plus size bodies are welcome. Queer families are welcome. Polyam families and chosen families are welcome. If you’re willing to travel to the Seattle area for photos that feel like you, I’m in!

After the session, we turn your images into customized artwork: wall art and albums that live in your home, not lost on your phone. Because this kind of generational love deserves a permanent spot on the damn wall.
