Connecting Breath with Nature
C made the journey north from Oregon for a gorgeous space near Granite Falls. We got to create a gorgeous day at a private PNW oasis where forest meets river. The light was perfect for us.
Together we created a vision: flowy fabric and water outside. So that's exactly what we did.
What struck me most about photographing C wasn't just her openness, it was how present she was. She knew her body. Not in a performative way, but in the kind of deep knowing that comes from years of intentionality. She could feel when something needed shifting, when a pose felt forced versus when it felt true. And she told me, thank god.
That kind of body awareness? It’s rare and gorgeous, something I’m still trying to learn.
She moved with her breath. Slow, intentional, connected. And honestly, some of my favorite frames came from those moments—when she wasn't trying to look a certain way, but was simply being in her body, exactly as it is.
We laughed. We adjusted. We got cold. We kept going.
At the end of it all, C chose a stunning framed piece for her home—a daily visual reminder of how badass and perfect her body is. And I have permission to share some of these images with you!
This is what outdoor boudoir looks like when it's rooted in presence, not perfection. When it's about feeling, not performing. When breath, body and wild landscapes come together.
If you've been curious about boudoir photography but weren't sure it was "for you"—let this be your sign.
