Celebrating Movement, Community, and Joy at We Outside

If you're looking for an event that celebrates strength, creativity, and authentic community connection, We Outside is where you need to be. Held twice yearly in August and October, this cookout-style fundraiser supports Melanated Pole Fest—the first festival organized by and for Black aerialist, Actin’ Up!

At We Outside, participants of all experience levels come together to try different aerial apparatuses, enjoy delicious food, and connect with others who share a passion for movement and self-expression. Whether you're flipping upside down on silks, twirling around a pole, or experiencing the thrill of a heart-shaped lyra for the first time, this event welcomes every body and every skill level.

What makes We Outside truly special is the people. The atmosphere is filled with encouragement and support as participants challenge themselves physically while celebrating what their bodies can do. There's no judgment here—just genuine appreciation for the different ways we all move and the strength it takes to try something new.

The event showcases the intersection of athleticism, artistry, and community. It's a space where people of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds come together to celebrate movement without the pressure of perfection. Every flip, spin, and attempt is met with cheers and celebration.

Beyond the physical activities, We Outside creates meaningful connections. The cookout atmosphere encourages conversation and camaraderie, making it easy to meet like-minded individuals who value both personal growth and community support.

Whether you're an experienced aerialist or someone who's never tried pole or aerial arts before, We Outside offers a welcoming environment to explore movement in a way that feels empowering and fun. It's about discovering what your body can do, not conforming to what it "should" look like.
